I started Spitz Science Solutions to bring scientific methods and knowledge to businesses to create more sustainable and profitable companies. My interest in communicating about science complements this goal and expands on over thirty years of experience in the business and scientific communities. I started my career in the construction industry, concentrating primarily on the financial and operational end of the business. Deciding that I wanted a career that incorporated more science, I returned to school in geosciences and while in school helped start an environmental consulting firm. For the last twenty years I have worked in various aspects of the environmental field including remediation, sampling, pollution prevention, health and safety, environmental health in both for-profit and not-for-profit companies. In recent years I have worked on projects in academia including project management in a water-related research center. Much of my management and research work has been with interdisciplinary teams dedicated to solving complicated problems. My writing experience has involved communicating to very different audiences.
The combination of strong business and science backgrounds means that I bring not only a breadth of knowledge to my work but complementary ways of approaching problems and finding solutions. Whether providing knowledge to improve the environmental bottom-line or writing an article about a complicated scientific subject for a general audience, the experiences in several industries and in different roles inform my work and produce the best possible product for you.
